What is the Oscar Project?

The Oscar Project started off as my personal quest to watch as many Oscar nominated films from history as I could get my hands on. Over the years, it has expanded to include reviews of current movies, classic reviews of older films, multiple voices, a podcast, and online challenges.

What will you get?

Knowing that not everyone shares my desire to relive film history from nearly 100 years ago, The Oscar Project is committed to delivering relevant content about contemporary films alongside historical perspective.

The Oscar Project features:

  • Online articles about films that discuss film history, film theory, and other topics intended to help you think about the films you watch in a new way.

  • Reviews of some of the newest films to hit theaters and streaming services like Netflix, Amazon, Max, and Disney+.

  • Reviews of classic films that you may not have seen for a long time, or perhaps never seen.

  • Podcast that includes insightful interviews with authors who write about various aspects of the film industry along with my deep dives on the Oscar nominated films that started this project in the first place.

  • Fun film challenges that run occasionally for a month at a time, or maybe even a year long challenge for those feeling adventurous.
